The opponent is a non-player character, and the rules of the match are similar to those of a regular battle. Battle Drill battles after the tutorial are risk-free and meant for practice. Battle Drill can always be accessed from its button on the Battle Deck screen. Then, the player conclude the tutorial. 
The final battle is fittingly named, "The Final Test", and gives a Common Crate upon its completion. There are 5 battles that occur within the tutorial, with all but the last one giving a Free Crate upon their completion. The chest won from the third battle is guaranteed to contain one Epic Cards from Battle Drill Warzone 1, Normandy. After only about 2 or 3 battles, players should already have a full deck of 8 cards, as they are likely to unlock the remaining cards within the Free Crates they are receiving. Each Free Crate contains 18 Gold and 3 Cards. Once the first battle is completed, the player is given a Free Crate and taken to the main menu. There is no time limit in the first tutorial battle. However, the player is free to deploy it at any time or deploy another card instead. It will be shown dialogue introducing the player to the game and its mechanics then he will tell the player to place down a card. This is the only time in the game in which a player can have fewer than 8 cards in their deck, as newly acquired Cards are automatically placed in their deck, and cannot be removed until the player has obtained more than 8 cards, after which they can be switched out. In the first battle, the player will have the following Cards:. 
This Warzone is the first place that players are taken upon starting up the game for the first time. 
The Instructor present in the Battle Drill challenges once you pass certain Medal thresholds. This is accessed by pressing the button with an target on it under your Battle Deck.
After the tutorial, the Battle Drill mode can be played for practice in games where no Medals are won or lost. When a player starts playing the game, Battle Drill functions as the game's tutorial, introducing the player to all of the game's mechanics. Battle Drill is a mode where the player battles an AI controlled Instructor for practice.
